From today, paying for parking in Pescara is simpler. Pescara Multiservice has launched SostaP, the new app that can be downloaded free of charge from Google Play and the App Store. With SostaP you pay for parking in the blue bays straight from your phone: no more looking for the nearest pay-and-display machine, no more coins in your pocket. You register the vehicle’s number plate, choose the zone and start the session, quickly, securely and transparently.

Paying by the hour is only the first of the services the app offers. The company is working to switch on season-ticket payments shortly, so that they can be bought and renewed from a smartphone. The handling of permits for access to the Limited Traffic Zone will follow, so that residents and businesses can apply for and manage their ZTL permits without going to a service desk.

SostaP was in fact born with a wider ambition. Pescara Multiservice means to add other urban mobility services alongside the payment functions: in time the app is to become a single, integrated tool for the people who live in and move around the city. The app is therefore only a starting point, a first step towards mobility that is simpler, digital and closer to what residents and visitors need.

The company’s aim is to grow it step by step, adding new services that are useful in everyday city life, so that it becomes the digital reference point for mobility in Pescara.
