Privacy and cookies

What happens to your data when you visit this site.

In short

This site sets no cookies and does not profile you. We sell data to nobody and we carry no advertising. We collect visit statistics in aggregate form, to understand which pages are genuinely useful. Everything else is set out below, line by line.

This page is about the website alone: what happens to your data while you browse it. For the full picture of how the company processes personal data — purposes, legal bases, retention periods, your rights — see the privacy notice (in Italian).

1. Who handles your data

The data controller is Pescara Multiservice S.r.l., an in-house company of the Municipality of Pescara, with registered office at Piazza Italia 1, 65121 Pescara, tax code and VAT number 01927750685.

You can write to [email protected] or, by certified electronic mail, to [email protected].

The Data Protection Officer (DPO) can be reached at [email protected]. This is the person to turn to on any question concerning the processing of your data, complaints included.

2. What we collect when you visit the site

Technical browsing data

Like every site reachable over the network, the systems that host it record some information which browsers transmit by their very nature: the IP address the request comes from, the date and time, the page requested, the outcome of the request and the type of browser. This data serves to keep the service running and to defend it against attacks and abuse; it is not used to identify who visits the site and it is not cross-referenced with other information.

The legal basis is the legitimate interest of the controller in providing a working and secure service (Article 6(1)(f) of the Regulation). The logs are kept for as long as is strictly necessary to diagnose malfunctions and to ensure security, and in any case for no longer than twelve months, unless they must be kept longer in order to establish an offence.

Visit statistics

To understand which pages are read and which are not we use an aggregated and anonymous measurement: it sets no cookies, it builds no device fingerprint and it does not make it possible to trace an individual. It tells us how many times a page was opened, not who opened it. Under the guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority of 10 June 2021, a tool of this kind does not require your consent, because it neither stores nor reads anything on your device.

If in future we add more detailed analytics tools, those will run only with your consent: you will find them in the preferences panel, switched off until you switch them on.

The request and report forms

The Contacts, Parking, Parks, Cemeteries and ZTL pages contain forms for requesting information or reporting a problem. When you submit one, the data you enter — name, surname, e-mail address, the text of your message and any attachments — is sent by e-mail to the offices of Pescara Multiservice and recorded in an archive of ours, together with the IP address you sent it from and your browser type. We use it to handle your request and reply to you, and we send you a confirmation e-mail with the case number.

The legal basis is the consent you give by ticking the box before sending, together with our interest in following up your request. We keep this data for as long as it takes to handle the report and in any case no longer than 24 months, after which it is deleted or anonymised. You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your data by writing to our Data Protection Officer ([email protected]).

The “Call me back” button

At the top of every page, next to the switchboard number, there is a button that asks us to call you back. We ask for two things only: a phone number and a few words about why. We do not ask for your name or your email address, because we do not need them in order to call you. Along with the request we record the page you sent it from, the language, the IP address and the browser type, so that one person cannot flood the switchboard with requests.

The legal basis is the consent you give by ticking the box before sending. We use the number for that call only: we do not add it to any contact list, we do not pass it to anyone and we do not use it to offer you services. We keep it for six months rather than the twenty-four that apply to reports, because a number left so that we can call back has served its purpose once the call is made; the six months only let us answer anyone who tells us they were never called. After that the request is deleted in full.

One thing must be said plainly: the number is not verified. Anyone could write someone else’s number. That is why we limit how many requests we accept for each number and from each connection, and whoever calls makes sure they are speaking to the person who made the request before giving out any information. If you get a call from us that you did not ask for, tell us: apart from the requests we receive here, the company does not telephone to offer anything.

Chat with an operator

At the bottom left, when an operator is connected, you can open a chat with the front office. What is kept of that conversation is: the subject you chose, the language, the path of the page you opened it from and the text of the messages, yours and the operator’s. Name and email address are written only if you want to: without them the chat works just the same and to us you remain «Citizen».

Unlike the forms and the Call-back button, for the chat we do not record your IP address or your browser type. The address is used only, at the very moment you write, to stop one person opening dozens of conversations: it stays in the program’s memory and never reaches any archive.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you on the channel you chose. We keep the conversation for one year, less than the 24 months for reports: a year is what it takes to find again what we said to each other if the same matter comes back, and to know how the service is doing; when the time is up it is deleted in full, messages included. It is read by the front office operators from a reserved page, protected by personal credentials, and each of them only sees the conversations of the services they look after.

At the end of the conversation you can have the transcript sent by email: in that case we use the address you write only for that one message. One warning that holds for any chat: do not write here anything that is not needed — access codes, card numbers, information about health or legal proceedings. If your request needs them, the operator will point you to the right channel.

The “How do you find the new website?” box

After a few minutes of browsing, a box may appear at the bottom asking for a rating of the site, from one to five stars. If you rate it, we receive the number of stars, the page you rated from, the language and whether you were using a phone or a large screen; if you add a comment we receive that too, and your email address only if you choose to leave it to be contacted back. We also record the IP address, to prevent a single person from sending hundreds of ratings.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding whether the site works for the people who use it. Rating is always optional: if you close the box, nothing is sent. We keep this information for no longer than 24 months. The box remembers having been shown using the browser's storage, not a cookie: that is data which stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.

Searching the urban-green calendar

On the Urban Green page you can look up your street to find out when mowing is scheduled. What you type never leaves your browser: the calendar is downloaded once in full and the search runs on your own device. Neither the street you looked for nor the fact that you searched at all reaches us.

The calendar subscription is the exception. If you choose to receive it on your phone, the street becomes part of the subscription address and your calendar app calls that address on its own, at intervals, for as long as the subscription exists. It stops when you delete it from your phone. If you would rather avoid this entirely, you can subscribe to the full calendar without naming any street, or download the file once instead of subscribing.

3. What we do not do

  • We install no profiling cookies, neither our own nor third-party ones.
  • We do not reconstruct your behaviour from one site to another.
  • We neither pass on nor sell data to anyone for commercial purposes.
  • We carry no advertising.
  • We take no automated decisions concerning you, nor do we carry out profiling within the meaning of Article 22 of the Regulation.

4. Cookies and browser storage

This site uses no cookies. In order to work, however, it keeps a few pieces of information in your browser’s storage: they stay on your device, they are transmitted neither to us nor to anyone else, and you can delete them at any time by clearing the site data in your browser settings.

  • pm-theme — whether you chose the light or the dark appearance. It is what brings your choice back on your next visit.
  • pm-meteo — a copy of the weather forecast already downloaded, so that it need not be requested again on every page. It holds meteorological data, not data about you.
  • pm-consenso — the choices you made in the preferences panel and the date on which you made them. It spares you the same question at every visit and shows that consent was collected. After a year it expires and the question is put to you again.
  • pm-allerta-… — whether you have dismissed a highlighted notice on the home page. It lives only as long as the browser tab stays open: on your next visit the notice appears again.
  • pm-chat — the code of the chat you have open, so that it is not lost as you move from page to page. It lives only as long as the browser tab stays open and does not contain the messages.
  • pm-avviso-… — whether you have closed a notice that opens in the middle of the screen, such as the change in cemetery opening hours. It keeps the same notice from coming back at every visit, and stops applying by itself once the notice is no longer current.

All of these are technical pieces of information: without them the site would lose your preferences and would ask you the same question on every page. For this reason they are not subject to consent, as provided by Article 122 of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code.

You can review your choices whenever you like with the Cookie preferences button at the foot of every page, or .

5. The external services the pages contact

Some functions rely on services that live on other domains. When you use them, your browser contacts them directly and they see your IP address: this is unavoidable, because that is how a network request works. Here is the full list, with nothing left out.

  • Cloudflare — the network that distributes and protects the site. Every request passes through it, including the anonymous statistics described above. Cloudflare acts as a data processor on our behalf.
  • Open-Meteo — supplies the weather forecast shown on some pages. It is a European service, with no access keys and no tracking.
  • OpenStreetMap — the maps embedded in the Contacts and Mobility pages, and the tiles of the interactive maps. It is a non-profit foundation, not an advertising network.

The flight and train boards are an exception in your favour: the sources (Avionio for the airport, ViaggiaTreno/RFI for the station) are not contacted by your browser but by a service of our own, which then hands the data to you. Those sources see neither your IP address nor which page you are looking at.

The site loads no typefaces from external suppliers: they are hosted on our own domain precisely so that nobody is told your IP address every time a page is opened.

The services that live at other addresses

From these pages you can reach services that are not this site: the purchase of season tickets and single tickets, the parking-tariffs portal, the platform for reporting wrongdoing and the Transparent Administration portal. They are separate systems, each with its own processing and its own privacy notice. When you open them you leave this site, and from that point the terms you find there apply.

6. Where the data is processed

The site is hosted on infrastructure located in Italy. Cloudflare, as a distribution network, may process technical transit data outside the European Union as well: the transfer takes place on the basis of the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and of the supplementary measures provided by the supplier. The other services listed are European.

7. Your rights

At any time you may ask to access the data concerning you, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict its processing, to object to processing founded on legitimate interest and to receive your data in a readable format (Articles 15 to 22 of the Regulation). Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw it whenever you wish, without this affecting the validity of what was done beforehand.

To exercise these rights, write to the Data Protection Officer: [email protected]. We reply within one month; if the request is a complex one we may take up to three, but we will tell you so within the first.

If you believe that the processing of your data infringes the Regulation, you may lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Piazza Venezia 11, 00187 Rome — garanteprivacy.it) or bring proceedings before the courts.

8. Updates

This notice changes when the site changes. If we add tools that collect more than is described here, we will update it before switching them on and we will ask for your consent again.
